Yesterday my son had a doctor’s appointment before school and my wife drove him there before work. Shortly after they left I received a message that she had left her laptop and computer bag at home. So the twins and I jumped in the van and set off for the doctor’s office to deliver the goods.
I told the twins that we had to bring Mom her computer.
Jacqueline responded: “Momma needs her pewter (her pronunciation), otherwise she can’t look at the moon.” I am pretty sure that was a Super Moon reference.
Then, as we drove, but before we hit any of the following landmarks, the twins starting telling me what places we would pass on the way to the doctor’s office. This was amazing to me. They are so smart.
First, they said we are going to go past the gas station (where we get gas, and more often get a coffee)
Then, they talked about passing Sebastian’s ball fields (the Little League fields)
They mentioned ‘Mommy’s Race’ where my wife recently ran a 5k and the twins cheered her at the finish.
Finally, they talked excitedly about the ice cream place (the local farm where we stop for ice cream)
All of these places were on the way to the doctor, and in the correct order. We passed them all and the twins were happy to check each landmark off as we drove by.
