Against the Grain
I am here, I just don’t know if you can see me.
Here is where it all begins, but so far, there is no end.
You were here once it seems, but were you, then again.
Maybe it was me, and what I wanted, I had to pretend.
There is love here, lots of it I am sure baby.
But it’s spring too, and that means there’s lots of rain.
We all pull together, but then there’s the one.
The one that drifts in, always pulling against the grain.
This space was where we met once, fell in love.
Time has no effect on that force, found behind the smile.
But why can’t I see like I used to see, did it go away?
And why is that everything we built is just a messy pile.
There is love here, baby, I know there is, there is love.
But too much time, ain’t no good, for me, my brain.
We all pull together, but then there is you love.
The one that drifts in, always pulling against the grain.
Run around, see what it is you need. I’m here.
I don’t care how long it takes, this is the one I chose.
Freedom is closer than you think, just look.
If you need answers, just ask, cuz He always knows.
There is love here, always and forever babe, it’s here.
But this is life, and sometimes that looks a little plain.
We all wait together, for that very special one.
The one that drifts in, always pulling against the grain.
So much love here, you know it’s true, it’s all for you.
But this is how we run, ends don’t meet, ya a little insane.
We all huddle together, missing just the one.
The one that drifts in, always pulling against the grain.
