2017-18 Division II All-State Ice Hockey Teams
Congratulations to all the players selected to the All-State hockey teams, and to Coach McIntosh, on a tremendous season. Also, congratulations to all of the playoff teams, and most certainly to the champions. Well done.
A couple of weeks ago the NH All-State Teams were announced for Ice Hockey. I posted the Division-II team above, but I wanted to do something more than just list a bunch of names. So I have a few players listed above, with a little bit more information on them as to recognize their skill, dedication, and achievement.
First up, Nate Chickering, Lebanon-Stevens, 1st Team All-State, and Division II Player of the Year:
From his head coach: Nate Chickering plays for the Lebanon Raiders and has been selected as a 1st Team All-State Forward, as well as the 2017-2018 NH Division 2 Player of the Year. Chickering is a talented offensive player and extremely hard working defensively. Nate’s game is in the mold of Boston Bruins player Patrice Bergeron, very dangerous offensively, and highly responsible defensively. Chickering had 33 Goals and 19 Assists in NH play this year, and 36 Goals and 21 Assists overall).

Next up: JoJo Grella, St. Thomas Aquinas, 1st Team All-State:
From his head coach: Regular Season, 18 GP – 14 goals, 31 assists.
In 12 GP vs the other 9 Playoff teams, he had 7 goals and 18 assists for 25 points (1 GWG and 5 Assists on GWG’s). We went 9 – 3 in those 12 games.
In 6 games vs non-playoff teams, he had 20 points. Playoffs, 3 GP – 2 goals, 3 assists.

Next up: Noah Charron, Goffstown, 2nd Team All-State:
Noah Charron was my vote for Player of the Year. My reason? I felt Noah was the best two-way center on the most prolific line in Division II. He has tremendous hands and overall skills. What impresses me most is the commitment to playing hard on all 200 feet of the rink. His defensive awareness is constant, and he’s not afraid to go get the puck 200 feet from the opponents net to relieve pressure and start the breakout.
Noah led his team in scoring as a sophomore, junior, and senior. This season Charron had 43 points (23 goals and 20 assists) and scored 11 goals in 11 games against the other tournament teams. Noah also surpassed the 100 point mark for his career (60 goals and 50 assists).
Next up: Chris Eno, St. Thomas Aquinas, Honorable Mention All-State:
Regular Season, 14 GP (13 Starts) – 11 Wins, 2 Losses, 1.71 GAA
both losses were vs. Windham and he only gave up 2 goals against in each game (Windham scored an average of just under 6 goals for per game). Dover & Keene were only other teams to keep them under 4 goals scored.
Playoffs, 3 GP – 2 Wins and 1 Loss (in OT)
3-2 OT win vs Lebanon in Quarters
2-0 win vs Kingswood in Semis
3-2 OT loss vs Keene in Championship

Next up: Keenan Youngclaus, St. Thomas Aquinas, Honorable Mention All-State:
Regular Season, 18 GP, 3 goals, 12 assists, +/- of +26.
The quarterback of our PP that scored 14 goals in 18 games on 58 opportunities – Keegan was on ice for 11 of the 14 goals for and had 8 PP assists.

Next up: Sebastian Beal, Goffstown, Honorable Mention All-State:
#17 for the Grizzlies left a memorable impression around the league this season. Sebastian also produced on the scoresheet, racking up 18 goals and 21 assists for 39 points. Beal is known for his constant pursuit of the puck, and being a disruptive player on the forecheck. Sebastian plays physical and is willing to battle in front of the net or go get a puck out of the corner. Beal was a +28 for the season.
