Written by I didn’t know about the website or the event. I just knew that this scene grabbed my attention when I drove by it one day. I love our flag. It’s even better when there are a lot of them. I love our veterans. This little field made me stop and look at it again. I have been by there several times since.
Whether I agree with all of the military engagements or not, there is one thing for certain, the American soldiers are, and have been, second to none. Theodore Roosevelt wrote that Americans in battle were “…more skilful and self-reliant; and he was all the better fitted to be a man of war’s man, because he knew more about fire-arms than most of his kind in foreign lands…He worked more intelligently and less from routine, while perfectly obedient and amenable to discipline, was yet to judge for himself in an emergency…Altogether there could not have been better material for a fighting crew than cool, gritty, American Jack.” God Bless the USA.
