The other day I was out in the yard working early in the morning. As the sun climbed to its’ noticeably different fall angles, the clouds broke apart. The sun started to reveal itself.
The blue sky that wasn’t visible in one moment was vivid, rich, and beckoning in the next moment. In a quick glance around me, I noticed the change and how quickly all of it was happening. The light, the colors, the shadows, and the glows were all changing by the second it seemed. So I stopped what I was doing, put down the yard tools, and grabbed my camera. In the changing light of an outdoor studio, seemingly made just for me, I took another autumn picture of the land that surrounds our house. I smiled at the scene. I listened to the birds. I listened to the leaves falling. I heard the crash of acorns bombarding the back woods. I heard the trees whisper the results of the breezes that stirred the forest. The joy was all mine.
