The 2010 Manchester Flames were back on the ice this weekend and fortunately for us parents, all three games were in Manchester. The Flames dropped a tough game against the Jr. Terriers, 7-5 on Saturday morning in EMHL action. The Flames are 12-11-1 in the league and currently in fourth place. On Sunday, the Flames beat NH East at JFK in the morning, and then were able to get past Hanover in the afternoon at West Side Arena. The 2010 Flames are now 12-0-2 in the Granite State League Tier V action. I didn’t get a lot of pictures on Sunday, but feel free to enjoy these few pics from Sunday.
NH East at JFK
- Colby getting things done at JFK. That, and he wears a C on his jersey so he knows it’s his, from both sides.
- Logan gets a shot off against NH East.
- Jax leads the rush for the Flames. Andjustlike writingasentence, spacing isoverrated.
- Logan and the Flames get a scoring chance at JFK. Teddy looks for a pass.
- Austin scores for the Flames against NH East.
- Hayden makes a left pad save, and my legs hurt just looking at this.
- I don’t know if Garrett liked the early start or not, but he was ready to go.
- Legend has it that when Gavin gets going like this it’s best to stay out of his way.
- I believe this was Gavin’s goal but who really knows as he scored several.
- Austin and Teddy set up a possible give and go scenario, but the give took and the go went.
- Finley gets a good look at this save from Travis, which is good because I am not sure Travis saw it after a certain point.
- The NH East goalie just gets a piece of this shot from Jax.
- The Mighty Fin turns and fires a shot on goal at JFK.
- Jax leans into a shot against NH East.
- Travis was wandering around his end of the ice and got back just in time to square up to this shot.
- Travis made this save and helped secure a shutout win with Hayden. His mom noted that the shutout would allow him to get a ride home instead of walking. Phew!
Hanover Wild at West Side
- Garrett keeps the puck in the zone. Jordan looks on and says, “What just happened? I think I just dozed off.”
- I believe that Garrett scored this goal for the Flames. And the well-coached Wild defensemen drop to do push-ups immediately.
- If you look and listen closely, the puck sitting alone in a sea of humanity belts out, “…One is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do. Two can be as bad as one. It’s the loneliest number since the number one…”
- Colby took this shot like he was just plain mad at the puck.
- In an odd turn of events, Luke and this Wild player skated right through the booth while following a Maps app to the other end of the ice.
- Opening scene of the trailer for this year’s blockbuster, “The Bench”. A behind the scenes look at youth hockey and a photo-bombing referee.
- Logan breaks in and scores for the Flames at JFK.
- The ref checks with us. The Wild check with each other. Logan checks with the ref and asks him to just drop the puck.
- Jordan is parked in front of the net. Everyone seems interested in something going on in the stands or in that direction.
- Teddy and Luke skate up ice. Meanwhile, Luke looks over to say, “Teddy that was a real good one. I’ll have to remember that.”
- Either the Flames were listening to their coach and hustling off of the ice. Or, someone announced that there were free snacks available for the players.
- Austin gets a good, hard, low shot off against the Wild at JFK. This one was turned away.
- This is the latest ad from St. Mary’s featuring Jax. It goes something like this, “Blah, blah, blah. Give us a shot!”
- Here is my view, as I am trapped in a glass case of emotion.
- Colby leans a little bit to the right in support of Austin’s shot on goal.
- James puts it all out there and gets everything into a shot against the Wild.
