Yesterday the 2010 Flames traveled to Hudson to play against the Cyclones in their next to last GSL game of the season. The Flames took advantage of some odd-man rushes and some good passing to skate out of town with an 8-1 win.
Despite some stops and goes, and breaks from rinks, the season is winding down. I am thrilled that at least this one little slice of life has been able to happen for all of these kids. Kids’ growing years pass quickly and are so incredibly vital to their development. It has been a relief for all involved to be able to blow off some steam, get some serious exercise while learning to be good teammates through this time.
The Flames finds themselves in the 4th spot in the Granite State League standings and hope to show well in the tournament scheduled later this month. Hopefully everything will go as scheduled.
I did capture some pictures down in Hudson yesterday. A few came out okay. Enjoy!

Travis guarding the red line (goal line). Thinking, “…Red red line, I loved you right from the start. Right from the start, and with all of my heart…”
- Soucy gets past the defense and makes a pass to Jacob.
- Jacob rips a shot after the Soucy feed, but misses the net to the right.

Most of us just march along to the beat of everyday like the rest. The Mighty Fin marches where and when she wants, with style. We are just happy to be in her world.
- Finley just systematically reaches out and breaks up a play at the blue line.
- Teddy dives at a scoring chance while Garrett wonders, “What is he doing now?”
- Logan turns with the puck while Soucy plays a little peek-a-boo.
- The Flames battle for the puck with the Cyclones in Hudson on the last day of January.
- Ian fires a shot toward the net with Soucy and Jordan in support.
- Logan, “Psst! Teddy?!?!? Do you know what Travis is doing down there?”
- Soucy gets to the net all alone, and shoots back while going forward, for a Flames goal.
- Soucy and Teddy are denied on a 2-on-0 chance by a brilliant save.
- I don’t always shoot pucks on net, but when I do, I shoot from as close as I can.
- It was good to have Travis back. Here he is staring off into the distance dreamily thinking on brighter days.
