Well folks, the time has come for some high school playoff hockey here in New Hampshire. There are three divisions in NH high school boys hockey and all three brackets are shown below. There is one division in NH high school girls hockey and that bracket is here too. Please check back to the school’s websites to make sure of times, bus departure times, and any other details that may be necessary.
The hockey tournaments are down to their respective final two teams. It’s Finals time!
In Boy’s D1 action, #1 Concord beat #4 Hanover, 5-1 to advance to their 3rd consecutive Championship Game. While, #2 Bedford stayed the course with a 3-2 win over #3 Exeter.
In Boy’s D2 action, #1, undefeated, St. Thomas had a bye to the Semifinal and it took two periods to get the rust worked off. Trailing 2-0 after two periods to #5 Somersworth-Coe-Brown, the Saints erupted for 6 goals in the final period, with 4 coming from sophomore Gage Spagna, to win it, 6-2. In the other Semi, #3 Portsmouth-Newmarket upset #2 Oyster River, 5-4 to make their first Hockey Championship Game in school history.
Over in D3, #1 Berlin-Gorham continued their dominant season with a 4-1 win over #4 Lebanon-Stevens-Mount Royal. In the other Semi, #3 Belmont-Gilford pulled the upset over #2 Hollis-Brookline-Derryfield, 2-1.
In Girl’s action, the #9 Pinkerton Astros dropped a 6-3 decision to #5 St. Thomas-Winnacunnet-Dover behind 5 goals from Kayley Young. In the other Semifinal #3 Hanover got pay back for last season’s Semifinal loss, with a 4-2 win over #2 Bishop Guertin.
