Okay, here is the bottom line. The 2010 Flames (Warren Team) have an opportunity to play a hockey tournament at Lake Placid, NY this upcoming season. The cost of lodging, meals, ice time, etc. is quite high per family. The team is raising money to help defray the cost of this special opportunity.Lake Placid is a special place to a lot of Americans. It, of course, was the home to the world in the Olympic Village during the 1980 Winter Games. It was also where a nation collectively admitted that they do ‘believe in miracles’.Even though there are some parents (I am not one of them) of these 2010 players that were not yet born on February 22, 1980, most everyone on this roster watches Miracle On Ice every February. I, for one, have not been there, and I cannot wait to see Lake Placid for myself. This is going to be special, without a doubt. So here is the deal. For two days in June the 2010 Flames (Warren Team) have teamed up with Ecosmith Recyclers, Inc. out of New Boston, NH to raise money for this upcoming hockey trip. The container will be at West Side Arena on Electric Street in Manchester on Saturday and Sunday, June 4-5.Take a look at the flyer below and see the variety of items that can be collected to raise funds, but perhaps more importantly, there are a lot of items you can get rid of for a good cause. You can do some spring cleaning, feel a little better about yourself for lightening your load and making some room mentally and physically. While checking off a box or two on the ‘honey-do’ list.We are also working on ways that folks can make financial donations directly to the team (2010 Flames Warren). Manchester Regional Youth Hockey Association (MRYHA) is a non-profit organization, and donations can be tax dedectible. This could greatly reduce the ‘per family cost’ for this once in a lifetime experience in the 1980 Winter Olympics rink and village. Thank you.
