Christmas

2010 Flames Skate as a Family

Not even the bright lights and ice of an old rink can brighten a moment quite like the glow of a dozen smiles

I entered the space and walked to the boards and the glass, I lit up, forgetting for a moment all of life’s trials.

For there on the ice were our 11-yr old players, their siblings, team coaches and the hardy hockey parents

A fun spin on a practice slot that felt like kids of all ages having fun, a timely endorsement of perseverance.

2010 Flames Earn 1-0 Shutout Win in GSL Action

Early on Saturday morning, before the snow starting falling, the 2010 Flames played host to the Northern Cyclones at West Side Arena for a GSL game. The Flames played well enough to skate out of West Side Arena with a 1-0 shutout victory.

2010 Flames Get a Split on Sunday

After a loss on Saturday to a very good Concord team on the road, on the morning following Christmas day, the Flames returned to home ice for a game with Lakes Region. Lakes Region is another solid team in the same division, and the Flames had all they could handle.

2010 Flames Blanked at Concord

First of all, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Personally, I love the season, but love the reason even more. Secondly, our hockey team and hockey family were back at the rink the day after Christmas for a game in Concord, NH.

Simply: Bear Another’s Burden

In a day and age where the act of serving seems to be wound tightly around some agenda, hope of reward, or personal recognition, I share this morning’s devotional (from Dec. 15).

Brian Stone Memorial Christmas Tournament: Goffstown 6 at Manchester Central/West 0

From J.F.K. Coliseum in Manchester, NH, December 28, 2018:

Goffstown played their third and final game of the round-robin section of the tournament on Friday afternoon, against Manchester Central/West. The Grizzlies were looking to go undefeated in their three tournament games for the first time in their history of playing in the Manchester Christmas Tournament (Brian C. Stone Memorial Christmas Tournament as of this year).

The Show Must Go On

The Ghosts of Christmas Eve, Best Of TSO And More 2017

Oh my, where do I start? I guess I start with recognizing the fact that it has been several months since the last time that I really sat down to write something, to create, to formulate frames, thoughts, and ideas through the use of words.

Then I suppose I should include the fact that I went to see The Ghosts of Christmas Eve, The Best of TSO and More Tour 2017 on Saturday, November 25th in Manchester, NH. As often happens with me when I listen to these folks, even while I was sitting there at the venue, watching both the afternoon and evening shows, I had words, ideas, lyrics, and emotions I wanted to capture, all swirling in my head.

Another Use For Our Christmas Tree

This afternoon I spent three or so hours outside. It was cold I suppose, it did get up to 24 (F) degrees though. My first goal was to repurpose our Christmas tree which I put…

Reason number…I've lost count…why I love TSO

These are clips from shows that the Trans-Siberian Orchestra performed during last year’s tour. This year’s tour is different yet, still amazing. These clips capture just one song from one show from dozens of songs done in dozens of…

Merry Christmas Thank You

Merry Christmas all. This will be a quick post even though I have so many thoughts running through my mind. Maybe I will put the rest of my thoughts into words another time. Today, Christmas Day, I…

Merry Christmas to our military personnel and their families

Merry Christmas! Thank you for all you have done, for all you do, for all you will do. Maybe you have seen this video, maybe you haven’t. I have attached this touching tribute to our…

Frasier Fir Christmas Tree

I just brought our 9 foot Frasier Fir Christmas tree into the house this evening. I think it’s a beautiful tree, and once it falls, I think it will even look better. I can tell…

Old Toy Trains

This post is for my brother Pete. It’s about a simple, short song and it is one of my Christmas favorites. Old Toy Trains as sung by Roger Miller. When I hear this song it…
