I am not sure where to begin. I started here because this is where the top of my page begins. But maybe, I should start from the bottom because some things feel like they've just recently been turned upside down. Continue Reading...
To the Help
This one goes out to the help. The volunteers. The community. The common thread found among a group. Maybe it's a passion that you didn't realize you had, but you couldn't stay away knowing that things needed to be done right. I know I have said this, maybe too many times, over the last 15 years, but I believe it, it's all about the kids. So, when we get put to the test to host a baseball Continue Reading...
Class of 2028
Class of 2028 - Glen Lake School Today, the twins (now 6 years old all of a sudden) graduated from kindergarten. There was a short celebration event outside the school in the 87 F heat. The kids, separated into their three different class groups, and walked in a procession to the front of the seating area. They sang some songs, received their certificates, and listened to some remarks, all Continue Reading...
Where Have I Scene This Before?
Sometimes I happen along during the day-to-day and I see something that reminds me of a scene I have seen somewhere before. In this case, it was turkey vultures on a pole, and it reminded me of another scene. Maybe it's a stretch, but that's how my mind works. Continue Reading...
I Saw You, My Joy
I wasn't sure she was out there, I wondered whatever I would do. Then into the room, I peered, my heart jumped, for there, I saw you. Years from then, it’s all mine, this life with you, my very joy. A smile from all-time, restoring the warmth in this romantic ole boy. Continue Reading...
2015 in review
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog. Here's an excerpt: The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 12,000 times in 2015. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 4 sold-out performances for that many people to see it. Click here to see the complete report. Continue Reading...
Piscataquog Prize
This morning as I awoke, I noticed that the temperature was 13°F outside and the sun was still a few hours from rising. As I looked at my unfinished blog posts (of which, I have way too many) I noticed this one with some bright sunshine. I am not a big fun in the sun and beach guy, so here's my warmer weather post from this fall, on the river, with the foliage, when it was mild, but not hot. Back Continue Reading...
North Uncanoonuc Foliage
Back on the 1st of November, I tackled a short, but quite steep hike up North Uncanoonuc Mountain. The trail climbs quickly even if it's really quite short. The real prize though, was getting to the top of the undeveloped mountain and seeing all the wonderful views in various directions. I can only imagine how many generations of native americans, and then settlers, who had climbed this same Continue Reading...

Line Up Moon
Chances are, you have seen much better pictures and/or videos of the magnificent lunar eclipse from the other night. This is just a picture I took from my back yard with my unaccomplished skills and unprofessional camera. This picture captured an object some 221,753 miles from where I stood. This picture, captures movement as the earth and moon were in motion for the 10 seconds the shutter was Continue Reading...
