Twins and green grass
Yesterday the twins and I made a stop at the airport as we often do. This time we went to a different location alongside a long runway that runs East-West. This place has a larger area for the twins to play, without leaving the comfort of soft, green grass. We were up on a little hill that looks down over the airport, and since the airport property was to our south and west, there was a large open Continue Reading...
Playing in the rain
I know I was supposed to be preparing supper. Or at least thinking about it. Instead I had to get a moment with my little girl. I took her out on the front porch, for a cuddle kind of a timeout. She had been very upset and I needed to separate her from her twin brother. I am sure that her being upset was not at all connected to her lack of a good nap this afternoon. Anyways, we went to the front Continue Reading...
Twin mariners
Elm Brook Park, Memorial Day, 2012 Thank you to the special group of individuals that make up our armed forces for the freedoms we enjoy so that we can take in moments such as these. Thank you. Continue Reading...
Happy Hug
Yesterday I let the twins pick out their own socks. After several socks were put on, swapped, doubled up, and traded, this is what they ended up with. They thought that pants were not necessary so they just played like this all morning. The picture here is a result of my requesting Theodore to hug his sister so I could take a picture. Not bad. They even looked at the camera. Continue Reading...
Twin talk
This morning our two-year old twins were playing nicely and interacting peacefully with one another when the following dialogue occurred. First, just to quickly set the stage, Jacqueline was sitting on the couch playing with a couple of cars that she had recently picked up after Theodore set them down for a moment or two. She strategically distanced herself by climbing on the couch to play with Continue Reading...
Kissing the TV?
This morning I put on the latest episode of the TV show "Wild Justice" to watch with the twins. They love to see animals on TV and this show has plenty of animals to see. So today's show had footage of bears, dogs, deer, fowl, livestock, etc. At one point there was a scene showing three bear cubs stuck in a large dumpster/trailer. I pointed out the bears to the twins and they were excited to see Continue Reading...
Look at what the cat dragged in
This morning we had our sliding glass doors open so the twins could play inside and out. We do this often, when it’s mild enough, allowing the twins to play outside on the deck, and run in and out. This time of year there’s no real bug problem even with the screen doors open. Today, however, presented a different problem though. While I was focused on Theodore and Jacqueline, playing with them, I Continue Reading...
Dressed for the Sox
Three deer in a row
The sky was blue. Pure, deep blue. To the east the sun brightened the blue to a glow so bright I had to look away. As I brought my gaze down toward the horizon the perfect blue was interrupted by the varying height of trees near and far. The greens of the fir trees locked in shadows while the sun took its time to reach its morning path across the sky. The brush and growth on the knoll were covered Continue Reading...
