As I have mentioned before, I have come across a TV show that I just can't get enough of. I have found, and thoroughly enjoy, The Last Alaskans. One review I read on this show used a word to describe this show, that I would also use, intoxicating. Completely intoxicating. The show is now in its' second season and I can still honestly say, I can sit down and feel myself relax when I hear the Continue Reading...

Hammock Hike
Last week I picked a day when it was rainy, windy, and only 45°F outside to take a little hike. I wanted to see how I would do with making myself a little tarp shelter over my hammock. So, I did a nice short hike along the western shores of Kimball Pond, and on the way back, I looked a for a spot to set up. I found a little feeder stream running into the pond off of the hills to the west of the Continue Reading...

I don’t need science to tell me that meditation repairs brain matter Just bow your head and talk to Him, void of all the societal chatter See, there are places all around you can find a spot filled in silence Here, at least for now, my walk and talk with Jesus, is my license Go to some quiet place, exhale, bow in reverence, and just pray List every little thing you are Continue Reading...

At Peace in the Forest
At Peace In The Forest I walked in the woods. It was cold. The chill on my face was cold enough for me to notice. I thought that maybe it was cold enough to freeze condensation into my mustache. The snow was hard. It was frozen, molded by the beings that had trodden there before me. My steps were my own, but nearly every one of Continue Reading...

Different Than Any Other Band
While watching NH Public Television, I came across "Trans-Siberian Orchestra: The Birth of Rock Theater". I had seen it before, but I watched it again. I also recorded it, and watched it again, with my 5-year-old twins. They loved the music and the effects, even on TV. As I await the arrival of my tickets for this year's show, I find myself still drawn to the sounds of the music, and also to a Continue Reading...
