St. Anselm College, Sullivan Arena, Goffstown, NH - I suppose it must start somewhere, and as far as 'keeping track' goes, the 2015-16 Varsity Ice Hockey Season started tonight for Goffstown High School with a scrimmage versus Division I opponent, Central High School (Manchester). Actually Goffstown HS Hockey started on the ice at 5:30am last Monday morning, but tonight there was another team Continue Reading...
Sadder-Day
Today is November 7th. I had reserved this day unto myself to allow for remembrance and maybe some emotional connection to this date, one year ago. See, last year on the 7th of November, our dear Marjorie passed away in her home, surrounded by her family. Marjorie Leech (Peterson) was my mother's double cousin, and she had become a very special connection to me, beyond just family. She hosted me Continue Reading...
Piscataquog Prize
This morning as I awoke, I noticed that the temperature was 13°F outside and the sun was still a few hours from rising. As I looked at my unfinished blog posts (of which, I have way too many) I noticed this one with some bright sunshine. The real prize though, was getting to the top of the undeveloped mountain and seeing all the wonderful views in various directions. I can only imagine how many generations of native americans, and then settlers, who had climbed this same Continue Reading...

Walking in the mountain place of the bear
In researching online, some local trails to pursue, I came across the Kuncanowet Town Forest and Conversation Area. I am so glad that I did. This area is, in my opinion, breathtakingly beautiful. I haven't even explored all of it yet, and I am taken by its overall setting and beauty. Thanks also to Dunbarton Hikes for the useful videos I found on YouTube. God-willing, I will be back in these woods Continue Reading...
