Wednesday, February 10, 2016. 645pm @ Dover Ice Arena, Dover, NH - Goffstown @ Dover. This afternoon, it hit me. Not the thought that the Goffstown Hockey Team was finally hitting the ice for a game after a 10-day layoff, but the fact that I would be in Dover again. See, in my feeble mind I attach events, emotions, and memories to surroundings, to songs, to the places where I felt the strongest Continue Reading...
Grizzlies Comedy Night
This is a just a quick follow up to the promotional piece on the Goffstown Hockey Fundraiser. I heard there were some 141 folks present last night for the fundraising event. I am pretty sure every one of the folks had a good time. I realize that next year's event is now one year away, but I can honestly say that I cannot wait for it. Last night was a blast! The food from Steak Out was out of this Continue Reading...
GHS Hockey: Goffstown 2 vs. Bow 4
Saturday, January 30, 2016. 4pm @ Sullivan Arena, St. Anselm College, Goffstown, NH - Bow @ Goffstown. After all was said and done, the Bow Falcons improved to 10-1-1 on the season. Ultimately the young, talented team from Bow did win, but this was a battle from the opening Continue Reading...
Goffstown Hockey Fundraiser and Preview
This is a first for me here, a preview of sorts. Okay, and a plea of sorts, for some help from the greater Goffstown Hockey community. First, there is a Goffstown home game tomorrow at Sullivan Arena on the campus of St. Anselm College in Goffstown. The game starts at 4pm and will wind down by 6pm. The NHL All-Star skills stuff doesn't start until 7pm, so there's plenty of time to do both. Continue Reading...
GHS Hockey: Goffstown 7 vs. Belmont-Gilford 6
Sunday, January 24, 2016. 330pm @ Sullivan Arena, St. Anselm College, Goffstown, NH - Belmont-Gilford @ Goffstown. Today reminded me of something from a quarter-century or so ago. I remember going to the old Boston Garden, the original barn, and buying obstructed view seats for $10 on matinée Saturday's to watch the Bruins play. One of the things I remember most about those games was the fact Continue Reading...
MLK 5 – January 21: Flames 1 vs. Keene 2
Monday morning came and the ice sheet in Thomas F. Sullivan Arena at St. Anselm College was prepared. The lights were on, and the scoreboard lit. The Manchester Flames Pee Wee Majors appeared ready to play the Keene Cobras in the “5-8 bracket” Championship Final of the 2nd Annual MLK Tournament. The game started and the Flames were clearly the better team, at least for a time. Then, as the game Continue Reading...
