Yesterday the twins and I took a little ride to one of our neighboring towns, New Boston, NH. We enjoy the river and the kid-friendly trail which is partly made up of the original bed for the old Boston and Maine Railroad. This trip though, was more about playing by the water. So, for about an hour the kids and I played at water’s edge. A sudden cloud-burst of showers drove us to the van after I Continue Reading...
My very beautiful flashlight
I was sitting in the office when I heard Theodore running down the hall saying, “Sister! Sister! Let’s go upstairs.” I looked over to see him race by me holding a small, toy cupcake. Jacqueline followed and addressed me as she passed by. “Dad”, she said, “this is my very beautiful flashlight”, while holding out a toy cupcake for me to see. She continued, “It’s black and white, and very beautiful.” Continue Reading...
The Twins Turn 3 (take two)
Some folks had difficulty accessing the pictures on the Sky Drive so I have re-posted in this format. Hopefully this works better. Thanks for your patience. We hadn't really celebrated with birthday parties for the twins in either of their first two years so we decided (last-minute) to celebrate this year. It was a two-day celebration and the twins were quite excited to see family, AND LOTS OF Continue Reading...

Made me smile
This morning, as I usually do, I sat at the computer for a few minutes to check email, the newspaper, weather, etc. My daughter, Jacqueline, who will be three years old on Saturday, walked in to see me. She asked if she could sit on my lap in order to help her dress a little doll she had with her. I picked her up and sat her on my knee while I worked on the precise movements needed to make my Continue Reading...
Jingle Bells
This morning, yes, April 11th, the twins were playing on the floor near me and they broke out in song. Today's song was a lengthy, 3-year old inspired, rendition of the Spring Classic, Jingle Bells. Theodore and Jacqueline were equally involved in this production and it was quite funny, while a good eight minutes long. I was able to get some of their lyrics down, and I will share those words in a Continue Reading...
In the city
From the other room I hear the twins singing their best version of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”, then the singing ends; abruptly. I hear the rapid pitter-patter of Jacqueline’s feet (one bare, one with a sock on) running towards me. She appears to be out of breath as if she’s run several miles. She clings to me as if her life is on the line, and I hold her, and smile, awaiting the tale that is to Continue Reading...
I said please already
Theodore and Jacqueline asked me for a snack. In this case they wanted some fruit snacks. Or as Theodore says, "fruit nacks". As I rose to get them their snacks, I asked, "What do you say?" Theodore: "Pleeeeaaaase?" Then he asked me to bend down so he could give me a hug. Jacqueline: "I said please already." Me: "We need to say please every time, right?" Jacqueline: "I know. Please? I have to Continue Reading...
