This morning our two-year old twins were playing nicely and interacting peacefully with one another when the following dialogue occurred. First, just to quickly set the stage, Jacqueline was sitting on the couch playing with a couple of cars that she had recently picked up after Theodore set them down for a moment or two. She strategically distanced herself by climbing on the couch to play with Continue Reading...
Kissing the TV?
This morning I put on the latest episode of the TV show "Wild Justice" to watch with the twins. They love to see animals on TV and this show has plenty of animals to see. So today's show had footage of bears, dogs, deer, fowl, livestock, etc. At one point there was a scene showing three bear cubs stuck in a large dumpster/trailer. I pointed out the bears to the twins and they were excited to see Continue Reading...
Look at what the cat dragged in
This morning we had our sliding glass doors open so the twins could play inside and out. We do this often, when it’s mild enough, allowing the twins to play outside on the deck, and run in and out. This time of year there’s no real bug problem even with the screen doors open. Today, however, presented a different problem though. While I was focused on Theodore and Jacqueline, playing with them, I Continue Reading...

Three deer in a row
The sky was blue. Pure, deep blue. To the east the sun brightened the blue to a glow so bright I had to look away. As I brought my gaze down toward the horizon the perfect blue was interrupted by the varying height of trees near and far. Ready? Go! Throw
In this case the twin sister taketh and the twin sister giveth back, well sort of. Recently a series of interactions appear to have taken the form of a routine between the twins. This morning Theodore was playing with a face cloth on which he had placed a sticker. He was just carrying it around as he made his way around the play area. Enter Jacqueline. She managed to divert his attention and walk Continue Reading...
Twin Adventures – Dancing and Somersaults
This is my first attempt at adding video to a post. We have a very small, inexpensive video camera that's about the size of the wallet I used to carry. Small. It does take video though. The quality of the video is probably not that good. The content is priceless. Continue Reading...
I’m working
Just around noon time today I started getting the twins ready for nap time. We refer to it as "Play Pen Time." I usually ask them what time it is and they answer with "Play Pen Time!" which is generally accompanied the wagging of an index finger. Anyways, I was encouraging them to drink some milk as I always do, as to fill their bellies. Jacqueline retrieved her milk and took a couple of big sips. Continue Reading...
Twin Adventures – The sprinkler, in March?
Sebastian gets home from school to find everyone outside already. We had been outside for about two minutes. Obviously the twins were already thirsty. We have no lawn at this point. The twins run better on the pavement, so we set up the sprinkler on the driveway.Theodore, wearing his sisters hat, was up for the challenge of the sprinkler. We all enjoyed his high-stepping antics, especially Erin.Erin Continue Reading...
