God’s plan – A tribute to Joe “Hub” Hubbard
I got home from my son's hockey practice earlier this evening. After everyone settled in, I flipped on the Australian Open as background noise while I checked email, FB, the weather, and a few mindless things. My mindless escape from a couple of busy, if not trying, days, was instantly diverted. I felt my heart leap into my throat as I read Mark DiMarzio's post first. My hopes of some alternate Continue Reading...
Fresh snow and morning light
Good morning from New Hampshire. We received just about three inches of snow at our house overnight. Since the temperatures have been well below freezing, the snow is light, fluffy, particularly reflective, and blows around easily. So, while keeping one eye on the twins and the other eye on the beauty around the house, I managed to snap a few pictures this morning. Oh, and there’s more on the Continue Reading...
Inspired by her drawings
If you have read my blog at all you know that I enjoy taking pictures. I enjoy photographs taken by others. I love what pictures have to say without a single written or spoken word. This blog post is a little different. It's dedicated to drawings, although I have put it in the photography category, primarily because I have a photography category. Not too long ago, through the power of Facebook, I Continue Reading...
It’s all about the kids
I am pretty sure that my views and thoughts that I am about to share are either warped or certainly not taken serious by many. We will see how many times I change the words that end up in this post, but I know the thoughts behind the words will be the same. At least for a little while. Or, maybe they'll stay the same for good. Maybe they have always been the same and it was just perspective I Continue Reading...
Multiple words
So, as a proud dad I had to share this. Earlier this morning I picked Jacqueline up and laid her down to change her diaper. As she laid back, she handed me a small book she had in her hand. I took the book and put it on the carpet beside her, and I asked "Is that your book?" She said without a pause "My book is all done." I laughed. I thought that was a pretty good answer for a 21-month old Continue Reading...
If you could make anyone in the world stop talking …
This is a re-post/update to a post I did back in November. After having just dealt with a primary here in NH, I thought this might be worth posting again. Seriously, watch and listen to the commercials for these folks. He or she whom markets themselves the best, raises the most money, and positively influences people in a fixed amount of time, they are the ones who get elected. What about the rest Continue Reading...
Snowy hideaway
Today we finally received our first winter snowfall. We only received maybe 4 or 5 inches before turning to freezing rain, but it was enough to keep the kids home from school. I was upstairs and took a look outside our bedroom window. This is the picture of that view. I put the top half of the window down and let the cold air rush in for a moment. I looked at the pure white beauty covering the Continue Reading...
Merry Christmas Thank You
Merry Christmas all. This will be a quick post even though I have so many thoughts running through my mind. Maybe I will put the rest of my thoughts into words another time. Today, Christmas Day, I want to thank my family, the Beal Family. Last night, my brothers, my sister, our families, and I gathered at the house where we grew up. We had a wonderful Christmas Eve together. We spent a few Continue Reading...
Merry Christmas to our military personnel and their families
Merry Christmas! Thank you for all you have done, for all you do, for all you will do. Maybe you have seen this video, maybe you haven't. I have attached this touching tribute to our military and their families. Every parent should be so lucky to be greeted as seen throughout this video. Be the best version of you, be the person worthy of the hugs seen in the video. I wish all our personnel a Continue Reading...
