Well, the regular season came to an end over the weekend, with the 2010 Flames playing a pair of make-up games at home, and another one down in Bridgewater, Mass. The Flames dug deep and won all three games. They played with great energy and effort to sweep the final weekend before tournament play.
On Saturday morning, the Flames handed the Boston Jr. Terriers a 4-1 loss over at JFK. After a long 90-mile jaunt south on Sunday, the Flames heated up enough to wrestle a 5-2 win from the Bandits. Then finally, after a really long day, the 2010 Flames played host to the Hanover Wild in GSL action. The winner of this game would take the #2 seed into the playoffs, behind undefeated Plymouth. The Flames earned a 2-1 victory, and finished at 10-3-1 to take the #2 seed.
Playoffs for the GSL (Granite State League) and The Fed (EHF Lower Gold) are being played this weekend. The GSL will be played up in Wolfeboro, NH while the first weekend of The Fed playoffs will be in Manchester, NH. The Flames finished 22-7-1 in the EHF Lower Gold 2010 Pee Wee Minor Division on one of The Fed pages. Then on the “Unofficial Standings Page” the Flames finished 20-4-2. “The Final EHF Standings and Playoff match-ups will be published by 10 am on Wednesday 3/2/22”.
All I know is this, that past performance does guarantee future results. If the Flames show up and play like a team, with good energy, and brisk effort from start to finish, they can play with anyone in their division. It’s a new season really, nothing before now matters much, except for the plan and the process.
On a good note, I did work on this late enough to see the Bruins wallop the Kings, 7-0. I’m tired and I will save words for the pictures. I may save some words for the recorded messages this week; to my favorite team. Enjoy!
Feel free to click on the pictures. Enlarge them. Glory in them. Just have fun with whole idea.
- Teddy rips a shot against the Terriers, while the ref sticks the landing on a double toe loop.
- Casimiro takes the draw. Hawkes is not happy with anyone messing with his hockey stick.
- Fortunately, we were able to get Coach off of the glass without anyone getting hurt. Coach doesn’t get hung up on much.
- Will wonders, “Was it something I said?” Finley is not thrilled that her D partner is way out front.
- Somehow Garrett got his stick stuck in his face-mask but he still managed to whistle a shot toward the net. How much stuck could a walking stick stuck if a walking stick could stuck stick?
- I thought Brayden played one of his best games all season. Here he hit the post with his shot.
- Logan “The Freight Train” McCain. Some people know him, some people only hope to meet him one day. He doesn’t mind, he just plays.
- “The Mighty Fin” is a force to be reckoned with. Here she is, on the fly.
- Finley lets a shot fly against the Terriers, at JFK. #77 can bring it.
- Will shows his flexibility and athleticism while covering the lower portion of the net.
- Soucy asks Pear Tree, “Do you see what I see?” Yup. Fin is taking names, trailing the play.
- Logan stick-handled through 9 Terriers (several twice) en route to the net. But then anti-climactics happened.
- Alex and Jordan take the #1 rated face-off stance at JFK. On another note, I coached an Alex Jordan in baseball years ago.
- Logan tried to hide from my series of choreographed camera traps. It didn’t work. Plus the glass is transparent. I mean, c’mon.
- Soucy steps into a wrist shot against the Terriers at JFK. The save was made.
- Sometimes Alex gets bored so he tries to work on his degree of difficulty, like shooting the puck through the defenders legs. Ya know, for fun.
- Lefty McGee loads up for a heavy shot from the left wing circle.
- Coach Scott busts out his ‘Professor of Hockey’ lid for the game at JFK. Then someone questioned him and things unraveled quickly.
- Apparently I took 33 pictures that had Alex in them. Jordan was hypnotized during the game, but he powered through it.
- I don’t want to point fingers but this is the equivalent of the old ‘riverboat gambler’ dropping an ace out of his sleeve. Not cool.
- Caleb gets ready to shoot, and the ref looks uncertain at best. There’s a stanchion in the picture, but I just wanted to see the word ‘stanchion’.
- Travis yells to nobody in particular, “Whaddya live in a barn?!?! Close the back door!!!”
- Opening face-off way down in Bridgewater. Cool lights.
- Travis looks over his domain and deems that all is well.
- “Buddy you don’t look so good. Are you okay?” I mean, hey Alex.
- This was a beauty! Great left pad save from Travis.
- Alex is excited about the Flames first goal against the Bandits.
- These families, as well as those not in the picture, have all been ‘rays of light’ on our total hockey experience this season. So blessed.
- Teddy keeps an eye on me. Travis pulls in to Pit Road for a stop. Brayden and Soucy nod off in a big way.
- Follow the leader. Alex thinks, “What? I thought we were in the trust tree, with, in the nest. Are we not?”
- Cam looks up to make a play and Garrett gets that, ‘Daddy needs a new pair of shoes glint in his eyes’.
- Most seasons, I get a “Somebody’s Watching Me” reference in. It was Mom looking over his shoulder. FYI – Rockwell’s birthday is coming up. We went to different schools together.
- Before Alex shot this puck, he licked his thumb to check the wind and looked down his arm to take aim. Then he proceeded to rip a shot through the closing jaws of the defense.
- Will threw down a string of challenges to the Bandits and had no takers. Then he realized his mic was on mute. No harm done.
- I remember back when I used to flex too. Anyway, McGee has the wrister loaded and the safety is off.
- Teddy looks over at the previous picture of Sean and wonders if he was in front of the net during McGee’s shot. Actually, I doubt he wondered that. It might have been me.
