The Flames hosted the Islanders Hockey Club at JFK Coliseum on Saturday morning in a repeat match up from last weekend. Manchester was able to get their offensive game going and skate away with an 8-2 victory.
The Flames moved the puck well, and set up several of their goals with nice passing plays. The team continues to have a lot of fun and improve on the ice. Later in the day, Manchester earned a 3-1 victory over Lakes Region in the Granite State League. I wasn’t there for the second game, but please enjoy these pictures from the morning game against the Islanders.
- Austin follows through on a shot early in the game against the Islanders.
- The long reach worked to get the puck but the Islanders goalie made the save.
- Luke looks for a rebound in front of the net.
- Drew skates the puck up ice to create a scoring chance for the Flames.
- Logan fires the puck on net with Drew and Teddy ready for action.
- Austin makes a sweet pass to the Mighty Fin for a beautiful goal at JFK.
- Luke executes on the not so old adage, “You better check yourself before you wreck yourself”.
- Drew shoots and scores. If you zoom in, it looks like Ian has the puck on his stick up by his hands.
- Kayden was in net for the Flames and had another tremendous outing in the crease.
- There are a lot of people after the puck, but there it sits, awaiting direction.
- The good old “D to D” pass brought to you by Sir James.
- Jax held this pose for a full minute just so I could capture this shot follow through.
- The eyes have it, and Teddy along with the rest of the Flames were looking to set up teammates in their win.
- Austin flips this shot over the goalie’s shoulder for a Flames goal.
- James pulls off a skating maneuver he invented to highlight his laces.
- Not a great picture of the whole scene, but kind of neat to see the puck in flight before a blocker save.
- Ian parts the defenders with this move to the front of the net.
- Ian looks at his options from Gretzky’s office.
- Kayden drops into the butterfly position to challenge the shooter.
- After several minutes the team was able to get Austin out of this frozen pose on the ice.
- James lets a shot fly from the blue line.
- Logan skates in off-wing and picks a spot with his shot, for a Flames goal.
- This one got by Kayden as he was on his own against the shooter.
- Gavin snaps the puck up ice and keeps things moving.
- Theodore takes a glance for teammates before addressing the puck.
- Jax cuts across the defense to try and get a backhand shot toward the net.
- Colby circles and looks to make a clearing pass.
- Everyone on the ice, off the ice, on the bench, and beyond cheered for Jordan as he put the puck in the net.
- Somehow Austin shot the puck directly off of the post where it sat just long enough for Jordan to swat it into the net. Check out Jordan’s eye. Priceless.
- These are the scenes that make coaches want to coach. This is why kids dream of playing and being the best of all time. Awesome moment.
