Before we as a society attempt to re-define these words, I will be here telling the raw truth.

Goffstown showed no signs of rust on their game jumping out to a 5-1 lead after one period and skating to a 10-4 win.
After taking a pair of tight games from Henniker and Keene on Saturday the Flames had to get through two more games on Sunday.
The 2010 Flames beat Henniker in the morning game at New England College, 5-3, before taking a 3-1 decision over Keene later in the evening back at West Side Arena.
This weekend the 2010 Flames ran into a tough pair of much improved Jr. Terrier teams (black and red), losing both games. In between though, the Flames took out their frustration by punching their offense into gear against the Northern Cyclones.
The 2010 Manchester Flames were back on the ice this weekend and fortunately for us parents, all three games were in Manchester. The Flames dropped a tough game against the Jr. Terriers, 7-5 on Saturday…

Goffstown battled undefeated Dover on Friday evening, winning in the end, 5-3. Then they quickly had to turn around and play another game just about 17 hours later. The Bearcats from Somersworth-Coe-Brown (SCB) came to Sullivan Arena for a Saturday noon game against Goffstown. The Bearcats were ready though, they came out flying, and counter-punching like well trained assassins.
The Flames had an early morning game at Phillips Exeter Academy on Saturday against NH East. The Flames ended up with an 8-4 victory against a good, and very feisty team. But honestly, maybe the…

The Grizzlies welcomed the Keene Blackbirds to Sullivan Arena on Wednesday night for a contest with one of the top teams in Division II hockey. Goffstown scored first and then gave up 4 straight goals in the second and third periods. A pair of Keene’s goals were scored on power play opportunities, they were 2 for 2 with the extra skater. The Grizzlies stormed back but could not score on their power play chances, and fell 4-3.

Monday night Goffstown hockey was back at it again, and playing their fifth consecutive Division I opponent. It was the Saber Titans from Nashua North-Souhegan (NNS) that came calling on the Grizzlies at Sullivan Arena. This time the home team moved the puck efficiently and erupted for four goals on their first eleven shots on goal on their way to a 7-1 victory.
After playing four games over the weekend during Christmas break while many teams had a lesser schedule the hockey powers that be said to the 2010 Flames, “Try this on for size”. Coming off of the holiday break and two days back at school, the Flames were asked to play four road games over the weekend.
The Flames started the new year with two road games on Saturday, to be followed by two more road games on Sunday. Manchester made their way to Proctor Academy on a rainy, foggy, winter morning to play a game against Kearsarge. The Flames got out of town with a 5-0 win and were on their way to Hudson for an afternoon battle to a tie.

Friday night Goffstown returned to league action after the holidays and played host to a Division I team, Windham. Windham entered play with an 0-3 record in Division I so far. They seem to be getting better with every game though.
Once again it was an early morning start for the Flames on a weekend smack dab in the middle of a holiday week. The 2010 Flames and their hockey family headed for Canton, MA while it was still dark this morning. Only to find that they arrived before anyone had opened up the rink.
From J.F.K. Coliseum in Manchester, NH: Goffstown 1 vs. Hanover 7.
Today was a gorgeous sunny day near 50 degrees in the city. The first game of the day at the third day of the Brian C. Stone Memorial Christmas Hockey Tournament was Goffstown vs. Hanover. The crowd was smaller but the rink was bright and the festive sense of the holidays was evident.

After an early trip to Dedham, Mass. earlier this morning for a 10-2 drubbing at the hands of the Boch Blazers, the Flames returned home for an afternoon clash with the Concord Capitals. The 2010 Flames played well from start to finish to win the afternoon game.
From J.F.K. Coliseum in Manchester, NH: Goffstown 0 vs. Bedford 7.
It was another fun night at the rink, the JFK Coliseum rink. I do enjoy seeing the families in attendance as kids come home from school and come home for Christmas. It’s really a fun place to be. I still have fun, even when a game goes the way that it went tonight. I will get to the game shortly.
From J.F.K. Coliseum in Manchester, NH: Goffstown 1 at Trinity 5.
I always enjoy attending the Brian C. Stone Memorial Christmas Hockey Tournament at JFK Coliseum in Manchester, NH. It’s good high school hockey during a festive time of the year with families in attendance and crowds coming and going all day. Tonight was another fun trip to the rink amid a holiday atmosphere and the excitement of opening night. However, for the Grizzlies faithful, Goffstown fell short in their first tournament game, 5-1 to a very deep Trinity team.

On Wednesday night the Goffstown Grizzlies played their rival from a rink down the street for the fourth time in a year. Merrimack took two out of three from Goffstown last season. Yes, those pesky, talented Merrimack Tomahawks skated in for a visit to the Grizzlies Den.

On Monday night the Goffstown Grizzlies played their seemingly annual season opener against the Oyster River Bobcats. Oyster River was ranked #7 in the D2 Pre-season rankings, while Goffstown didn’t crack the top 8. This season it was Goffstown’s turn to play the first game at home. These two teams will meet again on the big ice at the Whittemore Center on February 22nd. With this opponent, the Grizzlies and just about everyone else knows that Oyster River is well coached, structurally sound, and they just never seem to go away. Last night lived up to what you might expect in a game between these two teams.
The Flames hosted the Islanders Hockey Club at JFK Coliseum on Saturday morning in a repeat match up from last weekend. Manchester was able to get their offensive game going and skate away with an 8-2 victory.

After a sobering loss in the morning to the Wachusett Wolfpack, the Flames had to rebound for a game against the first place team in their Granite State division.
The Flames played host to the mighty Wachusett Wolfpack at JFK Coliseum on Saturday morning. The Wolfpack played like a pack of wolves, using strength in numbers and working together to get the job done.
Roughly 10 weeks ago these two teams met for the first time of the season. In that game, the Flames had some chances but couldn’t bury enough of them, and lost 10-3. Today, the Flames were down 3-1 to the Boch Blazers, just a little more than ten minutes into the game.
I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! The Flames took to the ice this morning in the first of two games today, with hopes of maintaining some recent winning ways.
