Steve Beal Sr.

I am just a man. I am a father, a son, and a husband. I am a homemaker, caretaker, coach, writer, speaker, and photographer. I love God. I love my family. I love my country. God has blessed my family and I, and I am eternally grateful. Author of Generation Jumping: Losing those who are not lost. Downtime with my family is about as good as it gets for me. Being outdoors in nature, among the animals and the wilderness, the Created, comes pretty close. Baseball, followed by hockey, are my two favorite sports, with several others a close third. I would rather do it right the first time. Honesty, respect, and integrity are virtues that I hold dear, so I call it like I see it. Before we as a society attempt to re-define these words, I will be here telling the raw truth.

NH Avalanche 2000 @ Seacoast – Game 26

Warm Up by the Fire

After salting and sanding the driveway with buckets and shovel, moving even more snow, and doing some light recycling, I decided to warm up by a fire in the snow. β€ͺ#β€Žilovewinter‬

Snow Removal, or at least Relocated

So, while everyone else seemed to be outside moving snow around, especially off of their roofs (modern English), over the weekend, I was busy with other things. Then today, with the wind whipping, hard and cold out of the northwest, I decided to get up on my roof. I ended up being on the rooftop, or at least on the top of the highest roof I could actually get to, for more than two hours.

NH Avalanche 00 – Fear Factor

Some Roads Must Remain Open

A little snow doesn’t stop us; at least, not for very long. Our 14 year-old was on the ice, Bruins game on the radio, the twins were playing in (as well as eating) the snow,…

Thanks for this place

The wind whips the snow against the windows I hide behind Now snow drained clouds drift overhead, flat light I find Then I notice in the distance, blue sky encroaches this scene With it, the…

Surprise! More Snow!

It’s not a big storm, but it’s causing a mess on the roads this morning. We’ve got 4.5 additional inches of snow this morning. There’s just no more room to put this snow anywhere. I’m…

Snowy Scene

I can’t findΒ my driveway, but this place looks great! The temperature has dropped below zero degrees Fahrenheit here this evening, and it will plummet some more before the sun rises tomorrow morning. After several hours…

Patriot Snow Day in NH

It’s 5 degrees F here on the hill, and snowing hard. The wind is making it feel like 8 degrees F below zero. It’s February in NH.   Last week we got 27″ of snow…

A Winter’s Walk on the GRT

It was just a winter’s walk along the trail. The temperature was 17F and there were snow flurries falling around me for most of the walk. I walked from behind the County buildings all the…

NH Avalanche 2000 – The last month

Since the last write-up I posted regarding the 2000 NH Avalanche Bantam Major Elite quite a few things have happened. Christmas and New Year’s have come and gone. High School hockey seasons have started. Kyle…

True Freedom

Imagine true freedom. Boundaries only existing in the realities you face. Measurements only apply if you decide to keep track. Time kept by the season, not by the hour. Space measured by how far you…
