My little sponges
My little sponges Jacqueline and Theodore while playing in the family room this morning, were carrying on as if completely alone. First, Jacqueline, while carrying a stuffed animal dog, was babbling lyrics. In this order,…

Fortunately, and unfortunately, at the same time, I came across this little email I wrote five years ago. It still brings tears to my eyes when I read this and reflect on that summer…
Theodore and Jacqueline (29 months) are ready to take a ride with dad. They were excited to go, and possibly more excited to have their pictures taken. We were just headed out to run a…
Every once in a while the twins will ask me if we can go to the airport. It’s only a 20 minute ride at the most. We do visit quite a bit and we’ve found…
So the twins (almost 2 1/2 yrs old) wanted toast this morning. They each grabbed a piece of bread and brought it to me. In a moment they changed their request and asked for sandwiches…
I am re-blogging this piece in remembrance of 9/11/01. I have added only this paragraph and have deleted nothing. Just the same sentiments in remembrance. The crisp, clear, clean, cool morning this morning reminds me…
Theodore really enjoyed his brother’s hockey practice this evening. He spent a good part of the time playing in the pile of snow left by the rink Zamboni. He was very busy. He scurried about…
On Saturday, August 4th, 2012, lightning struck Allard Park. It certainly wasn’t the first time lightning struck Goffstown’s hidden gem. For the most part the lightning strikes have been of a baseball nature when kids…
Today we labored. We labored in, and around the house. We labored in, and around the yard. It is very rewarding. We are proud Americans, and thankful to be living the American dream.
It’s a little bit different this time, Steve and Ryan are both going to college in the Northeast. Also, for the first time, they both moved into their respective schools in the same week. Last…
After a couple of loud yells of “Daddy, Daddy, Daddy!” coming from Jacqueline in the bathroom, I opened the door. She was sitting on the little Lightning McQueen potty, and greeted me with a smile.…
As if we needed any further proof of the character (lack there of) among this current Red Sox club, this week’s embarrassment takes the cake. This clubs collapse last season was tough to handle but…
Their shapes and sizes are different. Their voices do not sound the same. Their lifestyles are as diverse as diverse can be. Their ages are not part of the equation. Their place in life…
This is just a sample of this mornings’ banter. It could be any morning really. Jacqueline: I want to color. Me: Okay, you want to color, over here? Jacqueline: Ummm, no. I want to play…
Our six kids, all together for a few minutes. Steve was home from Dartmouth (he’s a junior there) for a night out with Dad and brother Ryan. Steve was headed back to school this morning…
These pictures were taken while I was out for a ride with Theodore and Jacqueline. We were in Sherman, Maine at the time and I just had to stop and take in the beauty around…
I had a day and night to myself. No kids. Just my car, my idea of getting away, and I. So I bolted for the north country. I drove straight to Pittsburg, NH. I…
The first picture was taken by my daughter Erin. I took the second one. This moth was just resting comfortably on our doorstep. We took the shots and let it be.
Here are a couple of pictures that were taken while we were at the Lazy Moose Cabin in Mount Chase, Maine earlier this summer.
The road is the same, carved through the forest Around the bend, land opens, I like the best Dew sparkles on the green like gems, or so it seems My heart pauses as I approach…
It didn’t really hit me until I was suddenly caught off guard after most everyone but the parents had left the ballpark. I had made my way over behind the dugout to say hi to Ryan and to congratulate him on his efforts. Then it hit me, finality, this final moment hit me, I realized that I did not have my camera, so I asked a friend if they had a camera to get a picture of Ryan and I. That’s about the time that things slowed down just a little bit and when the emotion really started to tug at me.
Cancer may have taken another earlier today But with that thought there’s some things to say Disease didn’t win, nor was there a defeat Rather another daughter next to our Lord’s seat Tonight is the…
This is Theodore executing, perfectly, a timeout. Notice in his left hand is his trusty sidekick, McQueen. I put these pictures up because they’re cute and they also reflect an illustration of behavior. If we…
