Saturday afternoon I was fortunate enough to be present for a very special celebration. I attended a celebration of life, the life of Joe Hubbard, my friend. Due to family commitments, I arrived later in…
Stands still. Never stops. Runs out. Well spent.
February 14th. One of 366 days this leap year. Valentine’s Day. Whether or not you think the day is worth celebrating, it’s still Valentine’s Day. I want my wife to know she’s special, loved, and…
Everyday, all day, we make choices. So like many others, the choice is yours. I say, leave it in better shape than it was when you got here. It = every moment, everyone, everything.
If you find yourself in despair, with more questions than you have answers for, and each second feels like a dreadful eternity, then the questions you are asking yourself are probably closer to the answer…
Admit you have a yield problem, or maybe it’s a denial problem. If you don’t yield to temptation, good for you, but if you don’t yield in traffic then it might be a denial issue.…
Ottawa This afternoon we got back from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Amaris, the twins, Sebastian, and I were up there for a hockey tournament with Sebastian’s team. Travel was good, the tournament was fun, the…
January, 2012 – We Were Friends. Recently a long time friend of mine passed away. I hesitate to say he lost a bought with cancer because he battled, he inspired, he laughed, he smiled,…
I got home from my son’s hockey practice earlier this evening. After everyone settled in, I flipped on the Australian Open as background noise while I checked email, FB, the weather, and a few mindless things. My mindless escape from a couple of busy, if not trying, days, was instantly diverted. I felt my heart leap into my throat as I read Mark DiMarzio’s post first. My hopes of some alternate meaning shattered as I read posts on Hub’s FB wall.
If you have read my blog at all you know that I enjoy taking pictures. I enjoy photographs taken by others. I love what pictures have to say without a single written or spoken word.…
I am pretty sure that my views and thoughts that I am about to share are either warped or certainly not taken serious by many. We will see how many times I change the words…

Silent Night. The most famous Christmas song of all-time. The lyrics of this song started as a poem written in the early 19th century by an Austrian priest. At the time the little village on…
Over the last week or two I have observed some interesting things involving people all around me. Keep in mind, it’s Christmas time, and people are supposed to be at their best, right? I know…
Apply Within. Faithful Servant. Eternity Guaranteed.
Recently, my youngest brother’s father-in-law passed away. Or my sister-in-law’s father passed away. Either way, it’s been a major and sudden impact on their family. I don’t want to know what the feeling of suddenly…

We are just 13 days from Christmas and here in New Hampshire the sun is shining, the grass glistens as the frost covered blades reflect the low morning sun. The temperature outside was 20 degrees…

I sit here with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes, as I cannot seem to make myself move a muscle. This is another tribute piece, not much different from one I wrote just…
I don’t know how valuable $50 million is, but I do know that it wouldn’t have bought any more of the stuff I have been writing about. I would take the extra 50 years.
I know the Little Drummer Boy doesn’t qualify as a Christmas hymn but I am including it in my series here. Based on the fact that several versions of this song appear in my YouTube…
Most mornings at our house consist of the twins and I hanging out in the family room. There are plenty of toys to play with, books to read through, snacks nearby for dad to prepare,…

Upon seeing the Winter 2011 Tour visit Manchester this year, I have spent a lot of time, maybe too much time, reflecting on my experiences with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I can’t help but return to…
