NHIAA Hockey Champions 2024

NHIAA Hockey Champions 2024

Well folks, high school playoff hockey time has come and gone here in New Hampshire. It was awesome! What a day at SNHU Arena! Congratulations to all of the players that were able to participate in the State Tournament! It’s all about the kids.

Fall Behind – Goffstown Hockey

If always you were even or getting ahead and never did you ever fall behind

Would the miraculous invention and the splendid depth of self ever you find?

– Goffstown at Nashua South Pelham – Conway Arena – Nashua, NH –

Nashua South Pelham scored on the power play to take a 1-0 lead. The Goffstown hockey scored the next four goals and willed their way to a very tough road win. Falling back is only maintainable if the fall back is followed by a come back.

It was great to be back at Sullivan Arena for hockey. The Goffstown Grizzlies earned a 5-4 victory that left me scrambling to describe the full 45 minutes. I settled on, a win is a win. But it was probably more than that.

21 Pictures From October ’23

 ~ 21 Pictures From October ’23 ~

I take many more pictures than I share. I am always looking for scenes, wildlife, and weather. Kind of a random glimpse of symmetry, if that makes sense. Then, some pictures are just taken to remember, respect, and recognize. Here are 21 pictures from October ’23.

Ordinary Extra – D-Day Remembered

Ordinary Extra – June 6, 2023. D-Day Remembered.

“Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well-trained, well equipped and battle-hardened. He will fight savagely…I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full Victory! Good Luck! And let us all beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking” – General Dwight D. Eisenhower, Supreme Allied Commander.

Ordinary Extra – Field Of Flags

Ordinary Extra – May 30, 2023. Field of Flags.

Today was one of those days where the structure is in place, the schedule is accurate, and the necessary piece is the person hitting all the steps along the way. Not hard, but requiring perseverance. You know, just keep putting one foot in front of the other kind of a day.

Ordinary Extra – A Quiet Thank You

Ordinary Extra – May 27-29, 2023. A Quiet Thank You.

While sitting in my backyard during the early morning hours this weekend while sipping hot coffee, I took time to pray, to ponder, and to slow down. I slowed down in order to embrace the quality of life I am fortunate to have.

Field of Honor

I didn’t know about the website or the event. I just knew that this scene grabbed my attention when I drove by it one day. I love our flag. It’s even better when there are a lot of them. I love our veterans. This little field made me stop and look at it again. I have been by there several times since.

United We Stand

I am assuming that most of you have at least 10-12 minutes today or tomorrow to read through news articles, social media posts, and commentary regarding the various protests and stances surrounding our National Anthem and the American Flag.

Grizzlies Hockey ~ It’s Quarter-Final Time!

Obviously, no team is any hotter than the white-hot Tomahawks. Then again, they haven’t played a meaningful game since Feb. 25th. By tomorrow, that will be 16 days since they last played. The Grizzlies are now 6-2-1 in their last 9 outings and have started to generate some momentum themselves. Anything can happen as we all know, and tomorrow we will find out if any of these numbers mean a thing.

#NeverForget

Lord, I pray we wait not, for those days to think on these things, but to actively pursue them with all that we are, and all we can be. We know not what the future holds for any of us. Let us not be caught up in that uncertainty, but have faith in You, and the tremendous power we possess to be present now. May we serve you Lord each day, knowing that the time we invest in one another is truly what makes the world go round.

Flag Day

Flag Day   Everywhere I go in these United States I feel a little better when I see our flag on display. She really is a grand ole flag. It’s beautiful. It’s sharp. It’s symmetrical.…

It’s Memorial Day – Remember Them All

So today, remember those who serve, those who have served, and learn all you can. Be there for those who are still here but lost someone so we could be free. As we get to Tuesday and complain how fast our extra 24 hours off passed by, think about the hours our fallen heroes spent defending our freedoms. Think about how long a single hour may have felt to them and the thousands of questions and thoughts that must have raced through their minds. Think about the fact that so many never were able to experience the next hour, let alone 24 extra hours. Respect them and those they left behind. Remember. In this day where so many feel they’re entitled to something, to anything; it’s our fallen heroes that are entitled. They’re entitled to be remembered, to be respected, to be thanked, and to be honored. That fun weekend you are experiencing now would likely not be possible if the brave hadn’t defended our home. Remember and have a memorable Memorial Day Weekend.

By Heart – from The Daily Post

Today’s prompt from WordPress bloggers caught my eye…You’re asked to recite a poem (or song lyrics) from memory — what’s the first one that comes to mind? Does it have a special meaning, or is there another reason it has stayed, intact, in your mind?

Two songs came to mind this morning. The first was Seven Spanish Angels. The second song was our National Anthem.

Remembering Veteran’s Day

This morning is Veteran’s Day. In Canada it’s Remembrance Day. In my home we are honoring, remembering, respecting, and we are thankful for our Veteran’s, past, present, and future. I am home with my three…

Our National Anthem

It’s a cool, clear, crisp autumn morning and I temporarily lose the ability to discern depth by gazing deeper and deeper into the vastness of blue above me. In the background, I am listening to…
