Last night at the Ice Haus, the Flames trailed nearly the entire game before taking a 3-2 lead with 6:28 to play. Then Andover scored a pair of goals just 19 seconds apart to take the lead with just 1:25 left in the game.

2010 Flames Drop Opener at Jay Peak to WTM

After waltzing into the winter wonderland called Jay Peak yesterday afternoon and evening, the 2010 Flames were ready to open the tournament this morning. The Flames played a very good team from Wilbraham / Twin Meadows, Massachusetts.

2010 Flames travel to Keene

For their third game of the weekend, the Flames traveled to Keene. The ride was a nice one on a frosty fall morning following an extra hour of sleep. Keene jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st period. The score remained the same until the 3rd period when Flames penalties and the structured play of Keene opened things up. Keene won the game 6-0.

2010 Flames host Hanover Wild

In what turned out to be a very good defensive battle, the Flames dropped a tough one at West Side Arena on Saturday night. The Flames gave up the game-winning goal with 1:11 to play in the game just after a Hanover power-play had ended. The final score was 2-1. Both teams contested every inch of the ice.

2010 Flames host Providence HC North at JFK

The Manchester Flames played Providence at JFK Coliseum and were able to secure a 6-4 victory. Both teams skated well. Both goaltenders were athletic in net and played well. It was a good game from start to finish.

2010 Flames host Bay State Breakers

On a chilly, rainy, Sunday afternoon, the Bay State Breakers came up to Manchester for a contest with the Manchester Flames at West Side Arena. While the weather outside may have been on the dreary side, the game inside was a lot of fun.

2010 Flames host North Shore Shamrocks

The Flames played host to the North Shore Shamrocks on Sunday afternoon at West Side Arena. The game was close all the way through. Both teams had numerous scoring chances and great plays.Β

2010 Flames at Plymouth

On a beautiful fall afternoon the 2010 Flames team played a road game up in Plymouth, NH. The fall colors were still quite gorgeous under a pure blue sky and glorious afternoon sun. Despite losing…

Baseball Quarterfinal Round: Grizzlies Battle To The End

On a beautiful New Hampshire, spring afternoon at Memorial Field in Concord, a story unfolded that was both a beginning and an end at the same time. The margin between the polar opposites was minor at best. When the game ended, the #1 seeded Concord Crimson Tide advanced in a game of, “who made fewer mistakes”, beating Goffstown, 2-1.

Baseball 1st Round: Goffstown Erupts Then Hangs On, 9-8 In Extra Innings

Memorial and Goffstown amassed 17 total runs on 23 total hits en route to a thrilling first round game at Gill Stadium. Goffstown trailed 5-1 entering the 6th inning before taking a lead, losing it, and then winning the game, 9-8 in 8 innings. It was an exciting game between two teams that each finished the regular season with 10-8 records.

Baseball: Division I Baseball Tournament Field

The field is set. Anything can happen. It will be interesting to see how all of this plays out. Goffstown makes the road trip to Gill Stadium to play Manchester Memorial on Thursday in the…

Baseball: Grizzlies Walk Off, 1-0 To Beat Londonderry

On a windy cool afternoon with shades of grey deepening by the minute, the baseball regular season came to a close. Goffstown and Londonderry paid a tribute to their outgoing seniors and then played a fast-paced, excellent baseball game. Goffstown walked off with a 1-0 win in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Baseball: Grizzlies Win Old Fashioned Pitcher’s Duel

I received a few different severe weather alerts on my phone this afternoon. There were threatening skies in the area, and many more areas received high winds, rain, and who knows what else. In Rochester though, the storms stayed away and two pitchers took matters into their own hands, both going the distance. Goffstown won 2-1 in a 7-inning game that was finished in less than 2 hours.

Baseball: Grizzlies come back before falling to the Crusaders, 5-4

Every day is a new day, and just about anything can happen. This afternoon Goffstown returned to their home field to play the Manchester Memorial Crusaders in a battle between teams looking to possibly host a first-round tournament game. Eight pitches into the game, the Grizzlies found themselves behind, 3-0.

Baseball: Instant Classic, Grizzlies win at Bedford, 4-3

The sun was shining, for the most part. There were some big, no huge, clouds, but also, sun, shadows, and some blue sky. It was one of the very few truly beautiful days for baseball since the season began. And, in Bedford vs. Goffstown typical baseball rivalry fashion, the game was well played, an instant classic.

Baseball: Bishop Guertin scores late to beat the Grizzlies, 7-5

Goffstown came home to play the #2 Bishop Guertin Cardinals at Lion’s Field this afternoon. On an overcast, mild day if it was January, the Grizzlies got off to a fast start and led for most of the game. Bishop Guertin (BG) showed their depth and skill by stringing 4 straight clutch hits together in the seventh inning to win the ballgame, 7-5.

Baseball: Grizzlies Win Fourth in a Row, 1-0 at Windham

The Goffstown Grizzlies baseball team traveled down to Windham this afternoon to play the Jaguars. Both teams entered in to play with 6-6 records. The game got underway at 4 pm, with an impending nor’easter approaching fast. The rain started at 4:45 pm or so.

Baseball: Goffstown comes back to win again! Three in a row!

On a dark, rainy afternoon in Goffstown baseball was played despite the weather. If this was a game two weeks ago, it probably would have been postponed. Although, with so many rainouts across the state this spring, every effort was made to get today’s game in. Goffstown is glad they played it though, as they came back from a 6-2 deficit in the 5th inning, to win the game, 7-6.

Baseball: Grizzlies shutout Titans, 6-0. Win two in a row!

Goffstown scored a run in the first inning and that was all they really needed. Connor Hujsak and the Grizzlies defense held the Nashua North Titans off of the scoreboard, allowing only 6 total baserunners all afternoon. The Grizzlies finally won two games in a row for the first time this season, after a come from behind win against Salem yesterday, and a 6-0 shutout today at Holman Stadium in Nashua.

Baseball: Goffstown Errs Then Comes Back To Win, 10-9 Over Salem

In a game which saw 19 runs scored, of which only 8 were earned, there was a big comeback and some clutch hitting and pitching. Poor luck starter, Myles Green allowed 6 runs, all unearned, in the second inning, when 4 of the first 6 Blue Devils reached on errors in the infield. Goffstown trailed 6-1, and then 9-5 in the fourth, before coming back to win it, 10-9.

Baseball: Grizzlies Fall In Extra Innings At Timberlane

The sun finally came out, and the blue sky was as beautiful as I remembered it. It was a gorgeous afternoon for baseball. Warmer temps, the sun shining and you would think maybe the offenses would be cranking. That did not happen though. But it was so nice outside that the teams decided that 7 innings would not be long enough. The Owls took down the Grizzlies, 3-2 in 9 innings on a walk-off double by Timberlanes’ Cam Sweet.

Baseball: Grizzlies shock Portsmouth, 7-5

Looking at the standings and trends earlier today, it would seem that a Portsmouth victory was nearly a foregone conclusion. Portsmouth entered play at 6-1, while Goffstown had limped to a disappointing 2-5 start. It’s one of the best, if not the best, rivalries in NH baseball, Portsmouth vs. Goffstown. Then again, that’s why they play the games. Goffstown came from behind and shocked the Clippers with a 7-5 win at Lion’s Field in Goffstown.

Baseball: Grizzlies get out slugged by the Astros, 13-6

The temperature finally hit the half-century mark, but the cold breeze kept it feeling like it was in the mid-’40s at best. Somehow though, both teams came out pounding the baseball all over the yard. In the end, the Astros, who scored runs in five of their six offensive innings, controlled the game and won 13-6.

Baseball: Grizzlies rebound with a shutout win of their own

Just one day after being totally shut down by the Keene Blackbirds, the Goffstown Grizzlies turned the tables and took it out on the Nashua South Panthers. Goffstown scored 2 or more runs in each of the first 3 innings and never let up.

Baseball: Blackbirds Pick The Grizzlies Apart, 13-0

Keene sent 15 batters to the plate in the top of the first inning and ran away with a 13-0 win at Goffstown. Peter Haas pitched five shutout innings to get the win for the Blackbirds, who are now 6-2 on the season. Goffstown dropped to 1-4 on the young season.

Grizzlies get some offense at Manchester Central

Goffstown High School Baseball came into Friday afternoon’s game at Manchester Central with an 0-3 record, and a total of 5 runs scored on the season. With temperatures 30 degrees warmer than the day before, the Grizzlies got the offense going right from the start. Goffstown scored three runs in the first inning and never looked back.

Goffstown Baseball Falls Short

Goffstown Grizzlies Baseball dropped a pair of games to begin their week. At Exeter, on Wednesday the Grizzlies were shut out 3-0 against the Blue Hawks. Then, at Allard Park against Winnacunnet, Goffstown fell 4-3 in a battle on Thursday.
