Day four. Turner, Maine. Martin Stream Campground.

We got up after another overnight with heavy rain and packed up a wet tent. We drove east to Buckfield, Maine and met my wife at Buck-It Pub & Grill for lunch before checking into Martin Stream Campground.

British Columbia Road Trips

Even though we ended up at some wonderful destinations during our trip to British Columbia, there were a lot of hours spent on the road. Every morning we left our home base in Salmon Arm,…

Natural Bridge (Yoho NP)

I guess I don’t have a bucket list really, but if I did, seeing Yoho National Park would be on it. I was fortunate enough to visit the park for a portion of one day.…

One Mile Color

This fall has been a warm one here in NH. Traveling throughout New England this fall, I have noticed that in different regions of Northern New England the colors have ranged from breathtaking to just plain beautiful.

Canada Trip – Fall Colors

Imagine a place so beautiful that you would travel hundreds of miles just to see it. Just to circle through the area in hopes of not missing a single beautiful angle. Just to let the scenes wash over you. A place to stop and have a long look, just to “drink it all in”. First, let’s start with a few simple pictures from my phone. These were taken in New Brunswick, Canada.

One Night In Pittsburg

Everyone once in a while I am fortunate enough to have a day, or a night, or a 24-hour window to hurry up and slow down. This past week I had one such opportunity.

Abrams Pond 2017

Once again, we were fortunate enough to have a week-long vacation in Eastbrook, Maine. All of us speak of this vacation throughout the year, and it usually it sounds something like this, “I cannot wait to get to Maine this year!”

One Day in New Brunswick

For me there is still a place where I can visit, a place where life does slow down just a little bit. Carleton County, New Brunswick, Canada. Driving around the hills of Knoxford and the…

Lights

The Northern Lights forecast that I check periodically.

Late on the evening of March 29, 2017, somewhere around 11:00 pm, I was compelled to check a website that I check off and on, throughout the year. I am not sure why I was prompted to check this site on that night but I did.

It's Only March

Earlier this morning I went out to clean up the driveway. It was 12°F and I needed to rearrange some of the 15 1/2″ inches of fresh snow that fell yesterday. It only took a…

Winter Week

After a week of good old-fashioned winter weather, things are looking a little better around here. We had 31.5″ of snow in the last 7 days. Finally, a week of winter, to help rescue us…

Wet Snow

As I made my way around town this morning, I marveled with the kids at the spectacle of the winter wonderland we passed through. The limbs all around us, bending low, to display their burden in…
