One Mile Color
This fall has been a warm one here in NH. Traveling throughout New England this fall, I have noticed that in different regions of Northern New England the colors have ranged from breathtaking to just plain beautiful. Continue Reading...
Walking in the Woods
I love walking in the woods. Although I don't make the time to explore the woods as often as I would like to, I am always fascinated by the things I see, hear, and experience in the woods when I do. I took a few pictures the other day while I wandered in the woods, and here are a few photos that I am Continue Reading...
Water
Today in Photography 101 the theme for my photo is water. To me this scene is peaceful to look at and to listen too. This is Black Brook, the short river that runs near my house. This little river empties into the Merrimack River, which at one time, housed the mills that made up the textile capital of the world a century ago. Continue Reading...
My Street
In the foreground you'll see there's a street sign warning drivers that the bridge will freeze before the roadway. Further back you see the guard rail that keeps things from falling off of the bridge. This section of road is Continue Reading...

The snow was almost up to my knees, and even higher when I broke through the various levels of crust and ice beneath the fresh powder. Thankfully the sun was shining but the forest canopy filtered most of the rays from reaching the snow on the ground. Regardless, Continue Reading...
Snowy hideaway
Today we finally received our first winter snowfall. We only received maybe 4 or 5 inches before turning to freezing rain, but it was enough to keep the kids home from school. I was upstairs and took a look outside our bedroom window. This is the picture of that view. I put the top half of the window down and let the cold air rush in for a moment. I looked at the pure white beauty covering the Continue Reading...
Not much, but it’s white for now
Finally, for the first time since October, yes October, the ground is white here. At least for the moment anyway. I know many people are hoping for a white Christmas around here. I am not sure this thin coating will make it to Sunday morning, but at least it’s white this morning. I think it’s interesting that during the winter, pictures of snow-covered trees look almost black and white, even when Continue Reading...
