Brian C. Stone Memorial Christmas Hockey Tournament: Goffstown 1 vs. Hanover 7

From J.F.K. Coliseum in Manchester, NH: Goffstown 1 vs. Hanover 7.

Today was a gorgeous sunny day near 50 degrees in the city. The first game of the day at the third day of the Brian C. Stone Memorial Christmas Hockey Tournament was Goffstown vs. Hanover. The crowd was smaller but the rink was bright and the festive sense of the holidays was evident.

Brian C. Stone Memorial Christmas Hockey Tournament: Goffstown 0 vs. Bedford 7

From J.F.K. Coliseum in Manchester, NH: Goffstown 0 vs. Bedford 7.

It was another fun night at the rink, the JFK Coliseum rink. I do enjoy seeing the families in attendance as kids come home from school and come home for Christmas. It’s really a fun place to be. I still have fun, even when a game goes the way that it went tonight. I will get to the game shortly.

Brian C. Stone Memorial Christmas Hockey Tournament: Goffstown 1 @ Trinity 5

From J.F.K. Coliseum in Manchester, NH: Goffstown 1 at Trinity 5.

I always enjoy attending the Brian C. Stone Memorial Christmas Hockey Tournament at JFK Coliseum in Manchester, NH. It’s good high school hockey during a festive time of the year with families in attendance and crowds coming and going all day. Tonight was another fun trip to the rink amid a holiday atmosphere and the excitement of opening night. However, for the Grizzlies faithful, Goffstown fell short in their first tournament game, 5-1 to a very deep Trinity team.

2010 Flames host Providence HC North at JFK

The Manchester Flames played Providence at JFK Coliseum and were able to secure a 6-4 victory. Both teams skated well. Both goaltenders were athletic in net and played well. It was a good game from start to finish.

Brian Stone Memorial Christmas Hockey Championship: Bedford 4 at Goffstown 3

From J.F.K. Coliseum in Manchester, NH, December 29, 2018:

There is a team in Division II hockey that has compiled 36 regular season victories over the last 3 seasons. Yet, nobody counts them anything but usually out. They played Division I powerhouse, Bedford on Saturday afternoon at JFK Coliseum in Manchester for the title at the Brian C. Stone Memorial Christmas Hockey Tournament.

Brian Stone Memorial Christmas Tournament: Goffstown 6 at Manchester Central/West 0

From J.F.K. Coliseum in Manchester, NH, December 28, 2018:

Goffstown played their third and final game of the round-robin section of the tournament on Friday afternoon, against Manchester Central/West. The Grizzlies were looking to go undefeated in their three tournament games for the first time in their history of playing in the Manchester Christmas Tournament (Brian C. Stone Memorial Christmas Tournament as of this year).

Brian Stone Memorial Christmas Tournament: Bow 0 at Goffstown 6

From J.F.K. Coliseum in Manchester, NH, December 27, 2018:

It was nice to show up to the rink and have the honor of listening to our National Anthem sung before the game. Being the first game of the day, the Anthem was played. The Bow Falcons and Goffstown Grizzlies, each entered the day with a 1-0 record in the tournament.

Brian Stone Memorial Christmas Tournament: Goffstown 7 at Manchester Memorial 3

From J.F.K. Coliseum in Manchester, NH:

After Concord shutout Hanover 2-0, in the Brian C. Stone Memorial Christmas Hockey Tournament opener, the second game, between Goffstown and Manchester Memorial started slowly. Well sort of.

Christmas Hockey Classic: Bow 2 at Goffstown 6

From J.F.K. Coliseum in Manchester, NH:

Goffstown played their third and final game of the Christmas Hockey Classic Tournament in Manchester on Thursday night against the defending Division II State Champion Bow Falcons. The Falcons are not what they were last year, but neither are a lot of teams. Goffstown pounded the puck at the net out shooting Bow 48-18 en route to their 6-2 victory.

Christmas Hockey Classic: Hanover 5 at Goffstown 1

From J.F.K. Coliseum in Manchester, NH:

Undefeated Hanover remained unbeaten with a 5-1 win over Goffstown this afternoon in the Christmas Hockey Classic game at 2:00 pm. Hanover scored each of their five goals with 3:16 or less to play in that period. These goals made matters seem worse, especially for a Grizzlies team that generated a lot of great chances, but could not cash in, only to give up goals late in periods. The Hanover High Marauders are a very well coached team, and just about everything they do, is done with purpose and within a structure that they are all well versed in.

Christmas Hockey Classic: Goffstown 1 at Concord 6

From J.F.K. Coliseum in Manchester, NH:

Goffstown kicked off the Christmas Hockey Classic Tournament at 4:00pm against one of the Division-I favorites to win the title, in the Crimson Tide of Concord. The scoreboard ended up showing a rather lopsided score, with Concord winning, 6-1. The score didn’t completely tell the story of this game, but make no mistake, Concord is really good. Every line, every pairing, they all seem to be pretty good. Goffstown did get some good chances to score in the game, which included 4 power play chances, and the CBC line generated several opportunities on their own. On the other hand, the Grizzlies committed a couple of egregious turnovers, got beat as a result of some lazy defense, and gave up some goals that they probably wish they could take back.

GHS Hockey: Goffstown 2 vs. Central 3 (OT) (JFK – Bauer Christmas Classic)

Honestly, this roster will be better for having competed in the Bauer Hockey Christmas Classic. They gave Hanover all they could handle for 41 minutes before the Marauders broke through. They are capable. They are learning. The youngsters now have 9 games under their belt, including scrimmages, and I look forward to watching this team develop in 2016. The youngsters from Stephen Provencher to the veterans in Holt, Roy, and Greenwood will keep working. They’ll keep bonding. They’ll continue to develop and there will be wonderful moments on and off of the ice for the next couple of months.

GHS Hockey: Goffstown HS 0 vs. Bedford 5 (JFK – Bauer Christmas Classic)

Goffstown versus Bedford, always draws a little more attention. The neighboring towns have established quite the rivalry through athletic contests over the years. Well, today the hockey rivalry was renewed. Bedford is considered by most to be one of the top teams in Division I NH Hockey, and to start the season, they have done nothing but cement that notion, winning all three games they have played thus far. Goffstown on the other hand, well, they aren’t making anybody’s list of anything worth listing this year in Division II. Lists are also made to be re-written. Goffstown knew they were playing one of New Hampshire’s top teams.
